Orlando Golf Guide

Orlando is a great place not only to play golf, but to hone your skills, or even try out your swing for the first time.

In 1997 Nick Faldo and Marriott joined together and opened the Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott in Orlando, Florida. The Faldo Golf Institute is dedicated to helping golf students of every age and ability to improve their skill, understanding, and enjoyment of golf. The Institute goes beyond its comprehensive curriculum. The practice facilities have been designed to enable golf instructors to deliver teaching concepts in actual playing conditions. The practice and learning areas are extensive and provide every challenge a golfer might face when taking to the course. You can practice and work on every aspect of your golf game at this ultimate golf facility. When you're done working on your swing, you can take what you've learned out onto the links. Accomplished architect Ron Garl designed a challenging 9-hole, par 32 course to test every club and shot in your bag.

MetroWest Country Club is the only Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf course in Orlando. Trent Jones Sr, the master of traditional American golf architecture, designed the Metro West course to incorporate the unique topography and landscape he found on the site. Dramatic elevations with changes of up to 100 feet distinguish this golf course from any other found in the Orlando area. Interspersed with natural spring-fed lakes, Robert Trent Jones incorporated many additional water features as well as sculpted bunkers, which protect generous-sized greens. Mature native trees line the painstakingly maintained fairways. Metro West Golf Club is consistently ranked among the area's top courses.

International Golf Club, based in Orlando Florida, is a beautiful Joe Lee designed course that lives up to Mr. Lee's own statement, "Golfers want a challenge, but they want a fair one." Joe Lee designed a course for the visitor, located in the heart of the convention and attractions area. He took advantage of the land's natural vegetation and isolated this course from the outside, yet it is close to the attractions of Sea World and the fireworks of the Magic Kingdom. With both rental clubs and shoes available, all you need is to bring your swing. Even that can be provided by their P.G.A. member teaching staff.

In addition to world class golf, Orlando offers some of the best golf packages and fully-stocked pro shops. So come on out and see what every one is talking about!
